More than the fact that it’s a pure and natural sweetener, there’s something about honey that just feels right. It’s a time-tested favorite that can instantly take you to a place of simplicity. It’s the sweetener for slow summer days when the wind is blowing the scent of fresh flowers to your back porch; it’s the sweetener for cozy winter mornings when you’re cuddled up next to the fireplace with a warm mug of tea. It’s the sticky sweet perfection that makes your best sweet treats even better, and your savory dishes completely irresistible. Indulge in simplicity; in pure, rich flavor; in the unrefined nature of Madhava, born of honey.
It all began in the early 1970’s in the beautiful foothills of Boulder, Colorado with a young entrepreneur who chose the Sanskrit word Madhava, which has varying English translations, but to the founders it simply meant, “Born of Honey.”
Like fine wine, Madhava has perfected the artisanship of honey, which gave rise to a family of flavorful, natural sweeteners; but it was all born of honey – pure, simple, golden honey and a community of makers with a vision for sustainable sweeteners.
Today, our buzzing bees are drawn to sweeping fields of radiant wildflowers that grow in vibrant hues with a stunning aroma and a sweet, tempting nectar. As each flower imparts its own unique flavor into our honey – some a bit warm and spicy, some rich and floral, and others bright and citrusy – Madhava has curated and carefully blended the finest flavors from Brazil and Mexico to give you the best of both worlds. We start with the wildflower fields in Brazil to give Madhava’s line of organic honey its distinct flavor with floral notes and acidic tones that tingle your taste buds; then create a light, crisp and well-rounded character with the organic honey we collect from wildflower fields in Mexico.
Of course, Madhava hasn’t lost touch with its roots of collecting the best honey from beekeepers right here in the USA. Our smooth Ambrosia Honey is the product of flavorful, regional honeys that have been artfully blended to create a rich floral aroma with a mild, but distinctive flavor befitting its name, which means “food of the gods.”
Made in a hive, lightly processed, lovingly packaged and full of flavor – from the farm to your kitchen. That’s Madhava, born of honey.
